Description
Male Black Bear Looking to Cross the Road, Grand Tetons
It is a delight to see bears stand. It gives them such a humanoid look! This one was looking to cross the road near the ranger station in the Grand Tetons National Park. Unfortunately, after looking both ways and waiting, it decided it was not safe because of the tourists and made a retreat in the other direction. However, it shows how smart the more mature bears can be. In Yellowstone, a younger bear happened to run out in front of my car in the Mammoth area. Luckily, I was driving slowly and able to stop, but many bears get killed because of speeding drivers.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
