Male Downey Woodpecker, No. 2
A flurry of movement caused me to look upward and catch a few woodpeckers flitting around the branches of a couple of trees. This was a male downy woodpecker. He looks very much like the Hairy Woodpecker, except his beak is shorter and he has some black spots on side tail feathers.
