Description
I love photographing dragonflies. The transparency of their wings are beautiful, and they are so strange looking up close. It is a challenge to find them, and then to catch them in flight is even more difficult. However I've noticed this variety is often found settled on a plant, and thus is much easy to photograph than the Blue Eyed Darner.
This red dragonfly is also known as Cardinal Meadowhawk and Sympetrum illotum.

Nature, animals, beauty have always been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes what I capture as an inspiration to create something new.
I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.
