Description
This area, along the Alcan Highway going north from British Columbia into the Yukon towards Alaska, there are small herds of wood bison along the road. Wood Bison differ from, say the bison in Yellowstone, which are plains buffalo. The main differences are ththat the peak of the hump on the Woods in in front of its foforelegss whileon the plains it is directly above forelegs. Additionaly they are larger, darker and woolier, have less hair on their forelegs, more triangular heads and run slower, aand move in smaller herds in moutainous and forested areas.
