Description
Bedraggled Red-Tailed Hawk
This red tailed hawk was spotted at Ankeny Wildlife Refuge near Albany, Oregon. I hadn't been to this refuge, and wanted to scope it out, although the day was extremely rainy and horribly grey. However, I was driving back from Portland so I just wanted to familiarize myself with the refuge and see how it compared to William L Finley. I first spotted his hawk sitting lower in the tree but he heard me coming and flow to the top of a taller tree. I also saw some bald eagles in the refuge hanging out on the top of telephone poles, but really, even the birds didn't want to be out in that weather.
