Description
Columbian White-Tailed Deer
Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge was a recipient of 27 Columbian White-tailed deer from the Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for the Columbian White-Tailed Deer, located in Cathlamet, Washington in early 2013 when flooding and eroding dikes threatened the resident population there. Since then more of these deer were translocated to Ridgefield. The translocated deer had ear tags; however those since born on the refuge do not. A total of 88 deer since then have been moved. These deer were endangered up until October 2016, but have since been reclassified as near threatened.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
