Description
Dall Sheep Way Above Seward Highway
Coming back from Soldotna after a long day, I spotted Dall Sheep, an ewe and her lamb, on the lower part of the cllffs above Turnagain Arm. These Dall Sheep were higher up on the face of the mountain. I had seen some a couple of days before, but very high on on the mountain's face. Despite the heavy rain, they scrambled the slippery steep rocky slopes with caution but ease. There are four species of Big Horn Sheep. The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, the Desert Big Horn Sheep, the Dall Sheep and the Stone Sheep. The Dall Sheep's fur color ranges from white to slate. Females have slender horns, while the males have more curved horns.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
