Description
Elephant Along the Okavango River
As we traveled the Okavango River by boat, we saw two groups of elephants. The second group was right by the bank of the river, and were clearly displeased at our presence. These elephants were less acclimated to humans than the elephants in Etosha. Botswana has the largest elephant population on the continent as they had tight protections and elephant migration to neighboring countries were interrupted by civil unrest in those countries. This led to a rise in population and growing conflicts between elephants and farmers and villagers. A decision to lift on a hunting ban has now been enacted and is controversial.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
