Description
Flying the Fenceline
A male Yellow-headed blackbird flies along a barbed wire fence that bordered the farm fields outside of Burns in Eastern Oregon. I loved the white markings on the male's wings, something one couldn't easily see when the blackbird was perched on a fence, so I spent some time trying to catch one in flight - not an easy when I was initially using my car as a blind. Luckily, there were a lot of male yellow-headed blackbirds in the area at this time of year. Finally I had to get out and approach each slowly and hope it took off in the right direction.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
