Not Only Sings, But Dances
Yellow-headed blackbirds were plentiful in Harney County around the farming fields of Burns this early June. You would see them perched along fences or in the grasses. This one I caught stretching his wings out - almost seemed like he was dancing all the while singing and calling as well. The males are obvious with their beautiful yellow heads atop the black bodies with a bit of white on their wings. The females are brown with a duller yellow patch on their breast.
