Na Pali Coast by Air, No. 2
A view from the air of the Na Pali coast. My friend and I signed up for a doorless helicopter tour of Kauai. What was I thinking?! The first part of the trip, the weather held most of the rain at bay, and we got some beautiful views of the Na Pali coast, but I was still hanging on to the strap by the door most of the time and in shock at how close I was to the great outdoors at 100 mph and no door. Every time the pilot tilted the helicopter I was sure I was going to be hanging out and causing the helicopter to go into a roll. I was a little better the second half, but we started to get socked in with mist and heavy rain. Would I do it again? Maybe... It was amazing to see the interior of the island and parts of the Na Pali Coast that are really inaccessible by any other method.
