The forecast for my Kauai, Hawaii vacation had been rain, rain, rain, for the whole week, but on the second day, the weather suddenly cleared for four days, and it was lovely. There are many sights to see and things to do on Kauai - beautiful uncrowded beaches, challenging hikes, whales, dolphins, birds, and even mountain goats. One of the most magical places on earth, rain or shine, Kauai is lush and tranquil.
This is the Na Pali Coast, seen by a boat. It's splendid and amazing to see. Sometimes the boat tours can make it up there, depending on the water conditions. This day we were lucky, although the captain pushed it too hard, and on the way back, one of the two engines (thankfully two) gave out and the pace was very slow!

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. I currently reside in Oregon, an environment rich in nature's graces. I have lived in California and New York, too, and everywhere there is a world of beauty around us, if we care to take the time and look for it.
