Description
OHSU Suspended Skybridge
This skybridge was completed in 1993 and connects the Koehler Pavilion of the Marquam Hill campus of the Oregon Health and Sciences University Hospital , to the VA center. The skybridge is the longest pedestrian skybridge in North America at 660 feet. The Marquam Hill campus overlooks Portland and is a both confusing and impressive array of buildings that include two hospitals and many other medical facilities all on a hill above Portland, Oregon, accessible only through various winding and narrow roads. Not the most logical site for a hospital and university complex, but a result of evolution of the complex and the city. The first building, a medical school, was built in 1887. There is also a sky tram that connects parking for employees to the medical site on the hill as there is limited parking by the facilities on the hill.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
