Description
On Lookout but Missing the Big Picture
While I never saw that many chipmunks the first five years I lived here, I see them more frequently now. This one was cute as he/she appeared on the alert and on the lookout, but hadn't noticed me yet taking its picture!
Chipmunks play an important part in a forest ecosystem as they harvest and hoard tree seeds. They eat seeds, nuts, fungi and their burrows can be as long as 3.5m in length. They live for only about 3 years in the wild, but in captivity can live as many as nine and in captivity can sleep 15 hours a day. Information from Wikipedia.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
