Description
Revisiting the Three Great Horned Owlets
The day before, we had discovered that the nesting owl I had seen 5 weeks earlier had three beautiful babies. This day we came back and found them in yet another of the tall trees in the grove, about 25 feet away from the other tree they had been in the day before - so a lot of climbing and strengthening of their muscles. I loved the way the top one's eyes are half closed, the 2nd one's eyes are wide open and the 3rd one's eyes are shut. This time they were alone in the tree and I wondered where their mom was, until I turned around and found one parent directly behind me about 10 feet up. Kind of a shocker to find myself being watched!

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
