Owl Hanging Out at the Headquarters
We looked for a Great Horned Owl around the area at the Malheur NWR Headquarters where we had seen an owlet last year. My niece heard a hoo, hoo, but we couldn't see it anywhere. Then she spied the owl sleeping in the fir trees, all huddled up in a tight ball, very difficult to see. The next day it was wide awake and in a tree with less dense branches.
