Acorn Woodpecker

I actually found this capture quite humorous, as I was at the William L Finley Refuge and had taken a trail called Woodpecker Loop and not seen one woodpecker. After combining that with another trail I headed back to where my car was parked. Suddenly I saw movement on the ground near a big tree right next to the parking lot. The tree probably had about 4-5 woodpeckers flitting about, but my first sighting of this one on the ground was the best.

Belinda, very nice capture of the Acorn Woodpecker on the leaf-covered ground. I like that the depth of field allowed you to capture the fuller scene/habitat.
